Mass Effect not working on Windows 7 Please Help!!!!
I got it installed, but when I run the game, I got the following message
"Mass Effect has stopped working".
I have also tried running it as the admin, but that does not work either.

You have to use the latest patches for Mass Effect from their website

First of all if you have done a clean installation of Windows7, then defrag the hard drive. Otherwise if you have done an upgrade from Vista, then defrag twice. After that verify all your newly uploaded Steam game files. Right click on each game in your Steam Games list, choose Properties> Local Files> verify.
You also have to put your PC in High Performance mode because Windows 7 sets the Performance at Balanced and therefore games will suffer.
Control Panel> Performance and Tools> Adjust Power Settings> Show Additional Plans> High Performance

Disable UAC. Run a stress test on the system. If it hangs then it can be due to defective hardware.

Installing the latest DirectX 9 Runtime and latest or different (32/64 bit) versions of Visual C++ Runtime 2005?
